Scott Kincaid -- Drums
DOB/Place: 4/29/1981; Shelton, Washington (trust me it does exist)
Joined/Formed SMTN: The simple answer is I am a part of SMTN because I love music to the point where I live for it. Music isn’t just something I put on in the background while at home or turn on in the car to get rid of the silence, no, music is something that I obsess over constantly. My obsession continues to gain momentum every day. There’s more to it than just listening to music, there’s creating, observing other musicians, critiquing, experimenting, and much much more. There are many facets of music and although difficult at times, learning to appreciate and understand each one is the most fulfilling thing I can imagine in life.
Musical Background: Started on the Alto Sax waaaay back in the day. I lasted about 6 months with that before I got tired of the reed, it tickled my tongue too much. After watching an awesome performance by a junior high school jazz band I couldn’t stop obsessing with the drums and at that moment I told myself that I was going to be a percussionist as soon as I got into junior high school. I stuck with it all through school and got my first drum set at age 13 (thanks Mom!), been playing ever since! I jam’d a lot with Marcus and some other friends who played guitar and bass for years before finally meeting up with Curt a year or two after high school, when we started creating more original music between the 3 of us. Everything progressed from there. It’s been a crazy ride!
Inspiration: My love for music and how it has kept me going. The idea that every experience counts.
